This warmer weather has been wonderful. I ran my 3 miles outside yesterday. I was stronger than I thought I was going to be. I really wanted to talk myself out of not going for a run or making it shorter but somehow I didn't let that happen. I did walk some as running outside is much different than on the treadmill. I also am not 100% back to full energy strength with my hormones still being somewhat out of whack.
On my run I really paid attention to the quiet (when no cars were passing me by), the sound of my footsteps as they hit the pavement. The birds that seemed to be singing just to me. And when I was feeling like I was defeated a nice breeze was at my back giving me the extra burst that I needed to continue and not let myself fail. I've been praying more often, not just for myself but for those that I love and care about and I think if you listen and pay attention you get the response that you need. Yesterday it was the wind at my back. It was like a little extra push to keep going, telling me that I am strong enough and you can do it!
My vitamins are also on their way. I'm really hoping that these help with all the symptoms that I'm experiencing, tiredness, irritability, feeling bloated, restless nights sleep, not losing weight and everything else. Hopefully it will be just what I need so I can go back to my sunny disposition and enjoy life, family and friends.

Relief???
So my hormones are crazy irritating and I'm having a difficult time trying to adjust on some days. I was told about a vitamin that may help. I did some research and I ordered it yesterday. I'm hoping this helps me as I've been a tad miserable lately. Let me tell you it can't come soon enough!! I really hope that it provides some relief. The ingredients are all nature too so that is a really big plus. I'm hoping I can get off the BC that was supposed to help regulate my hormones but isn't. And I'm really hoping to have an enjoyable summer and not be on this roller coaster that I have been on.
I missed my long run this weekend as all I wanted to do was sleep. I did run yesterday and took a walk with the dogs and it felt good. Today is a rest day but I will get outside for a walk or get on the elliptical. I need to do something so I don't feel like a slug.
OK, enough complaining....I'll attempt to be a ray of sunshine on my next post.

Irritation
So sometimes family can be irritating. I ran this morning on the count of I'm getting my hair done this afternoon and I didn't want to get it all ruined with a run later. So I got up early and ran 2.5 miles. I was supposed to run 4 but I didn't have the time as I needed to get ready for work etc. I will take a walk with the dog later but my daughter chimes in and told me that I didn't finish the run because I was an epic failure....Nice coming from the girl I GAVE BIRTH TO.
Just as I was excited that I actually got up in the morning to run (I am so not a morning person) and that's the response I got. It hurt and I yelled at her but yet she really doesn't feel any remorse for her comment. I will talk with her later and be sure she understands how hurtful her words were. I'm sure she didn't mean it like I took it but the point is she should never say such things.

First run outside
The weather was beautiful yesterday and it was calling me to run outside. So I did. I ran my first 2 miles outside since I don't know when. It felt good to be out in the elements and feeling the wind in my hair and the warmth of the sun. It truly was a beautiful day and I'm happy I was able to enjoy a little bit of it.
I did notice that I was more tired and had to take walking breaks. I have slept for garbage this week so I know that had something to do with it. I also noticed my breathing wasn't regulated and that got me winded quicker as well. I know that will all come once I can hit pavement more. I make a vow now that I will get outside to run as much as I can. It is important for me to get my breathing down better and get that outdoor running pace together so I am ready and prepared for this 1/2 marathon.
My son got his braces yesterday and in honor of St. Patrick's Day he got them green. He has been such a trooper with the spacers, expander and now the braces. No complaints even when I had to take him back yesterday because one of the brackets came off his tooth. It wasn't even 3 hours that they were on and one came off FPS. So back we went so they could fix it.
Tonight we go to A's basketball party. The team is getting together for pizza so it should be fun. She really enjoyed playing and I hope to get her into some summer camps for additional skills and drills.
Work is OK...still learning and slowly growing more confident.
Germany is still in the works, I'm waiting for airfare to come down in price but we're excited and I've even gotten in a Rosetta Stone German lesson.

7 miles
I ran 7 miles on Saturday. It felt good! I was strong, had good form and it wasn't as dreadful as I thought it would have been. I attempted 3 miles yesterday but I could tell that my body needed some rest so I ran a mile and walked a mile. Today is a rest day and I can tell my body needs it. It feels good to relax some, perhaps I'll actually get some scrapbooking or cleaning done.
Work is OK, we're moving locations. I knew this was coming just not so fast. I'm helping with seating arrangements and everyone and their uncle has to put their 2 cents in. Just be happy you have a desk to sit at!!! Then there's Miss Nosey pants co-worker who needs to know everything....Um I don't need your help with this so step back.
Passports came on Saturday so that's exciting....Germany here we come. Now only if flight prices would come down I'd be a happy girl.
Guess that's all, not much to say for a Monday morning.

Confidence
So I've really been trying to work on my confidence and I guess I need more work. I am starting a new role here at work, a little more technical in nature. It's wonderful because I get to learn more but I have no technical background. But I feel given the right tools and training I can do this job. I'm not creating code nor do I need to translate it so I won't need those skills. But I got thrust into a project and I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. The guy training me (who basically didn't finish the project and now it falls on my lap) has given me less than stellar training and tells me that he wants me to learn from my own mistakes. Well I have no problem with that but what I take issue with is he hasn't given me any of the tools to succeed and I'm not the personality that can continue to fail or make mistakes and think it's OK. Perhaps if I was given more to work with I'd be OK with it.
My co-worker seems to think that it is a self confidence issue on my part. Well perhaps it is but how can I feel confident about things I've never been given any training on....or the time of day from this particular co-worker. So now I'm left here feeling a little defeated, like I'm up a creek and haven't even been given the boat let alone the paddles. I know I'll be OK, but it is taking a hit to my confidence level and I don't like that.....I don't like to fail and I feel that if I do fail that it may mean my job.
On the running front, I've gotten in my 2 runs this week, tomorrow brings 7 miles. I'm excited to see if I can do it. I know that I can!! If I have to walk some so be it, the goal here is to get the 7 miles completed and feel good about it.

Long weekend....
So we jetted off to the Dells on Friday since the kids were off of school. We had a good time until about 3am ish on Saturday when E woke up saying he didn't feel good. 8:30ish he threw up....so the rest of the day was just relaxing in the hotel room and napping. By 3:30ish he was up to going to the dry park and played on the bumper cars and some laser tag but got upset when I wouldn't let him on the tea cups...I figured spinning was not a good idea for a kid that several hours earlier was trowing up....he wasn't happy. We headed to the arcade and there he had fun, things he could do without feeling sick. He did get sick around midnight again on Saturday but then he slept the rest of the night and yesterday was back to normal. I felt terrible, what kid wants to go away and then can't play with the other kids??? I felt terrible.
A sang at the local soccer game yesterday with her class. They sang the National Anthem and of course I got teary eyed....it's so wonderful to see your kids do things you never did and having fun doing it. The game was good too. I had never been to an indoor soccer game so it was an experience. A lot of action so it kept the kids engaged. They even want to go back.
I did get in a 3 mile run yesterday. It was nice and strong considering then I didn't feel good. I didn't get in my 6 miles that was scheduled for Saturday but I'll train hard this week and this week Saturday I'll be doing 7. I'm actually excited and worried at the same time. Last week's training was crummy but that's because I wasn't feeling the best but I really hate to miss the longer runs. I was planning on running at the hotel but with E being sick I was snuggling with him and even took a nap myself since I'd been up most the night. Saturday will be a challenge and I'm looking forward to it I just hope that last weeks lack of running doesn't make it too difficult! Hopefully it will be nice out and I can run outside for the first time of the season, that would be really great. Guess I should charge my ipod to get it ready.
I'm also a tad nervous....I asked all the parents to get back to me for the kids service project at religion and I've only heard from 2 of the parents (I'm not counting myself LOL)...I hope they are going to tell me this week what they are bringing otherwise I need to call the families to ask them to bring baked goods for the fund raiser....I really want this to be successful for the kids as they are putting their hearts in it. I guess I shouldn't worry about it, whatever they make will be good enough and I'm sure they'll be happy but as their teacher (and my son being one of the kids so as a mom) I want them to be successful so that they continue to want to help others and know that charity is a good thing. Although I am teaching them that any amount will help and is appreciated.
